The Centennial Celebration

Celebrating 100 years of Triangle Fraternity at the University of Illinois

As all of you know this year is a very important anniversary for our fraternity. It marks a major milestone in Triangle history. Reaching this milestone demonstrates our members’ faith in the founding precepts and commitment to forging a brotherhood, a commitment that has spanned a century.

We invite you to join your fellow brothers in Champaign on April 20th - 22nd to celebrate our fraternity’s great achievement.

There are 360 available tickets for the Centennial Celebration. Each ticket will cost $150, or $300 per couple. The celebration is described by the itinerary below. Please note that a portion of each ticket cost will go into a fund for future investment in the Illinois Chapter of Triangle Fraternity.

Schedule of Events

Friday April 20, 2007
The Triangle house on Campus will open its doors to all the arriving Brothers in the afternoon. Stop by and meet the Active Chapter, the current Alumni Board, and reconnect with fellow Alumni as we kick off the celebration.

The celebration will continue that evening at Jillians in downtown Champaign. The informal cocktail party, hosted by the Founders Day Celebration committee, will begin at 7pm and run until 10pm. As we reminisce about the great history of Triangle and meet the current Active Chapter hors d’ouvres will be served.

Saturday April 21, 2007
The day will begin at 8am with a continental breakfast at the Triangle house, where the history of our house and its members will be on display for all brothers to view. In addition, house and campus tours will be provided for those interested in experiencing life at the Triangle house and its role at the University of Illinois one hundred years after its founding.

At noon a catered lunch will be served at the fraternity house. After lunch all of our brothers that have traveled to celebrate will gather in front of the house to take a picture to commemorate the event. The remainder of the afternoon will be left open to allow the Alumni that have come back to make new bonds and reestablish old ones. During this free time the committee would like each attending Brother to interview with a member of the committee. These interviews will chronicle each Brother’s time at Triangle and his time after. Each Brother’s portrait will be compiled into a commemorative book that will forever memorialize the event.

Our 100-year celebration will culminate at a formal banquet at 7pm at the Illini Union, in the Illini A,B,C rooms. There will be a dinner and a few distinguished Brothers will speak of our history and our future as a fraternity. After dinner all the Brothers will once again gather to take a picture to commemorate the event.

Sunday April 22, 2007
As most Alumni will need the day for travel no formal events are planned. A full breakfast will be served from 8 until 10:30 at the chapter home. The house will remain open to the Alumni throughout the day to continue socializing and reminiscing. We would ask each brother that has not done so already to stop by and interview with the committee so we may develop his portrait for the commemorative book.
